This is the oral history of Ersey Edmond, conducted by Bre Partida-Castillo on March 22, 2019. He was born into a sharecropping family in Tupelo, Mississippi. He moved to South Beloit as a child with his family. He speaks about his time in Navy as a young man, as well as his time working for Chrysler. Prominent in his narrative were themes of family, education and the Black community in 1960s and 70s South Beloit. He currently lives in South Beloit and is 75 years old.
