Description
In 1947 Herron and Ethel Johnson found land and built a house in Beloit at 1980 Harrison Ave. She was so proud! She worked for Willard Arnold. He helped them acquire the stuff, like lumber, to build the house when stores refused to provide it to the couple.
Cheryl Johnson Caldwell, their granddaughter, bought the house and her brother lives there. The photo is from circa 1954. Ethel did entertaining in the house. She hosted the Culture Club.
